QUARANTINE
We have managed to arrange for a quarantine area. It will not be strictly enforced, but in the spirit of fair play we ask all competitors to adhere to the following: Before 9:50am - you can go to the arna along the west side of the Olympic Oval. Stay off all other parts of campus. From 9:50am - please stay within the boundary lines of quarantine until you start your run. After your run - please do not re-enter quarantine, not even to go to your car. |
RACE NOTES
As everyone knows, this race was planned on only two days notice. Some courses may be a little rough on the edges but we are confident you will enjoy running through this delightful campus.
The university campus is mostly very open and runnable with little elevation gain. Grassy areas but also a lot of hard surfaces. Therefore runners would be recommended. No spikes or studs, please! Lower leg cover not generally necessary.
The route to the start will be flagged from the SW corner of the parking lot 10 and will take you to the Dining Centre in which we will have access for washrooms. The call up area will be close by.
The map has been updated in the past couple of days, but there may still be inconsistencies… Construction areas will be marked as Out Of Bounds. Olive green is also Out Of Bounds!
There will be road crossings, even on course 1, on the internal university roads, but as it is a holiday Monday, the University should be quiet. However, do warn the kids! We cannot patrol all the roads. Also be careful if going around building corners at speed!
OTHER NOTES
No spikes! Wear normal jogging shoes - leave the mud-covered metal-studded o-shoes in the stinky o-bag
DIRECTIONS
Click on this link for location of parking.
Parking is in parking lot 10 which you access off 32nd Avenue NW at Collegiate Blvd. The parking will be pay by meter and is $7 for the day. You enter your licence number into the machine. The university DOES patrol parking so do pay!
